Damp and chilly autumn afternoons call for bourbon hot toddies that warm you from the inside out. This cocktail has a base of spiced orange tea, freshly grated ginger, and bourbon. Honey and brown sugar bring warm sweetness, and a lemon garnish adds brightness at the top. It soothes the throat, warms the chest, and primes the body for cold-weather hibernation.
So put the kettle on, and cozy up for a long evening by the fire.

Ingredients:
8oz water
1/2 tsp grated ginger
1 bag orange spice tea (lemon works too)
1/4 tsp brown sugar
1 oz bourbon
1/4 tsp honey
1 lemon slice
Directions:
Get some water boiling on the stove. Meanwhile, grate the ginger.
Pour 8 oz of the boiled water into a measuring glass and add the grated ginger along with a tea bag. Let the ginger and tea steep for 3 to 5 minutes. Meanwhile…
Put the brown sugar and bourbon in your drinking glass. Once the tea is ready, pour it through a fine mesh strainer into the drinking glass.
Stir in the honey and top with the lemon slice.
